IBM Tivoli
Netcool/Webtop
IBM Tivoli Netcool/Webtop delivers graphical maps, tables and event lists to the remote operator via HTML and Java. Netcool users can also manage Netcool alerts with the Netcool/Webtop's flexible interface and advanced management capabilities.
Netcool/Webtop extends Netcool/OMNIbus' capabilities by adding a new set of graphical views as well as flexible management and administrative functions. This Web-enabled interface allows monitoring and viewing of high volumes of management data from Netcool/OMNIbus. Accessible from any Java-enabled Web browser, Netcool/Webtop provides operations staff and executives with "anytime, anywhere" access to service status and actionable information.
Tivoli Netcool/Webtop’s core features include:
- Secure Access and Administration
Netcool/Webtop provides advanced functionality so that users can remotely monitor and manage their entire Netcool implementation. Netcool/Webtop collects and processes high volumes of management data by taking it directly from the Netcool ObjectServer™, the Netcool in-memory database.
- Highly customizable dashboards
Netcool/Webtop offers an array of images, graphical maps, charts, tables and event lists that are tailored according to your requirements — showing the “big picture” of a service or the specific devices that may be causing a problem.
- Single tool for internal and external displays
The Netcool/Webtop Active EventList (AEL) presents Netcool events in realtime to users with read-write access by obtaining information from the Webtop Server. The Webtop Server generates Java views of alerts based on filters and updates these views in realtime. It resembles the core functionality of the native desktop, which includes a variety of tools and menus specific to each authorized operator.
Netcool/Webtop is also customisable based on the users requirements. Its user-friendly maps let users manage realtime Netcool events for any network segment, device, or service and can customize views to see the ‘big picture’ of the entire network or drill down to check how groups are functioning. As a result users can analyze patterns and determine performance trends when working offsite. This helps Netcool users proactively manage their networks and services at all times, from any location.
Business Benefit:
- Uses familiar, intuitive Netcool interfaces to events making it easy for users to learn and modify.
- Provides entity grouping to help administrator manage large groups of users.
